Ms. Lanaye Smith, Director

Dear Clayton Partnership Families,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Director at Clayton Partnership School. I am honored to continue my work and passion in Mapleton and am looking forward to working as a team with families, students, staff, and our community.

I have always had a passion for education and knew this is where I would spend my professional career. I attended the University of Northern Colorado and received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after, I received a Master of Arts Degree in Urban Education from the University of Denver. I was lucky enough to be placed in Mapleton as a Boettcher student teacher. My work continued in Mapleton as a kindergarten, first, second, third grade teacher, and Instructional Guide. Throughout that time, I received a second Master of Arts Degree in Special Education and truly found the importance of working with families and supporting students in the best way possible.

Throughout my years in Mapleton, I had an even stronger desire to make a positive impact on the entire school community. I am committed to working diligently to ensure our children achieve their full potential while supporting and encouraging them along the way. I look forward to continuing our work together in the 2023-2024 school year.

Ms. Jolene Durrant

Dear Clayton Partnership Families,

As the new Mapleton School District Assistant Director, I am beyond excited to serve the Clayton Partnership community. I look forward to supporting students, families and staff members this year. Born and raised in southern California, I have also lived in several other states, including Alabama, Wyoming and Hawaii. I earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Hawaii West Oahu and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Regis University.

As I approach my sixth year as an administrator, my passion for education continues to grow and I am eager to share that passion with you all.
I am a proud mother to two teenage boys, 14 and 17. You can find us enjoying time outside together engaging in a variety of activities such as pickleball, mountain biking and making smores in the summer! In the colder months, we enjoy the snow in the mountains and visit often. Having lived in the mountains for 8 years, we go back as often as we can!

Clarity, compassion and accountability are the pillars that drive my decisions and how I engage with all stakeholders. I am committed to contributing to the success of every student at Clayton Partnership and I look forward to partnering with you!
